I was born in Neuquén, Patagonia, Argentina. During my Bachelor's and Master's degrees at the University of Buenos Aires, I developed a fascination for molecular biology, focusing my studies on transgenic rodents. For my PhD, I specialized in acetylcholine receptors expressed in the inner and outer hair cells, which are fundamental to hearing physiology.

I studied at the University of Buenos Aires and Tufts University in Boston, under the supervision of Dr. Belén Elgoyhen, with support from a CONICET PhD fellowship. Subsequently, during my postdoctoral fellowship at the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory in New York, I contributed to the development of two-photon microscopy for imaging the entire mouse brain and its application to mouse models of neurodevelopmental disorders such as the 16p11.2 mouse model, prostate cancer mouse model, and brain circuits.

Five years ago, I moved to Heidelberg, Germany as a Mercator Fellow to specialise in light-sheet microscopy for brain tumor research using pre-clinical mouse models. Recently, at the University of Bonn, we have been applying image techniques that combine single-cell and spatial transcriptomics to take a broader approach to brain tumors.
